Learn Machine Quilting with Lynn Wait: Learn to finish your projects quickly and beautifully from expert instructor Lynn Wait. Machine quilting is an exciting way to open new avenues of creativity in your craftsmanship.                              

Tuesday Oct. 14, 21 & 28: Jacket Jazz with Sharon Fields

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.     $45 plus materials

It's quilting as haut couture! With a combination of old-fashioned skill, bold new technique and as much imagination as you can muster, you can learn to create a breath-taking piece of wearable art.

Friday, Oct. 17: Fall Table Runner with Kate Toole

Celebrate the beauty of Autumn in the North Country with a "two-fer" of simple pieces that capture the spirit of the season to carry throughout the year.

Instructor Becky MacKellar brings a musician's sensibility to the textile arts. Learn to play with fabrics the way a jazz master plays with notes and create a one of a kind piece that is uniquely you.

 

Rebecca Muir MacKellar was born and raised in New Jersey. She

learned to quilt from her mother and maternal grandmother.

          Rebecca graduated from the Ithaca College School of music and

obtained a degree in Music Education. She currently is the organist and

choir director at Trinity Episcopal Church, Potsdam, NY.

         Rebecca moved to Canton, NY in 1981 and resides there with her

husband, Ian, and two college age sons, Shane and Gavin. A dog named Zip keeps them all company.

Make 'em funny, make 'em funky, make 'em cozy, make 'em crazy! If you can knit and purl, you can make socks! Give 'em away or keep 'em for yourself. Who doesn't need more socks?

Friday October 17: Learn Fair Isle Knitting

Making a Small Bag with Betty Laakso

1 p.m. to 4 p.m  $35 plus materials

Conquer your fear of Fair Isle by starting small. One of these little bags is a perfect project to overcome your inhibitions and master this colorful tradition.

Coming in January: Lace Knitting with Betty Laakso
