Quilting Class Schedule

Winter 2010

Advanced registration is required. Full payment of class fee is required at registration. A minimum of three people is required for each class. We reserve the right to cancel unfilled classes. Come early to register and choose your class materials.

“Turning Twenty” with Kate

Tuesdays, January 12, 19, and 26 [6-9 pm]

 

Kate Toole teaches this wonderful beginner’s class. You will learn how to use a rotary cutter, sew a quarter inch seam and put together a wonderful quilt. We have turning twenty fat quarter bundles in the store which is a help to those who don’t know where to start. We will turn these twenty fat quarters into a full size quilt. You may also choose your own fat quarters. It is recommended that you come in before the class to choose your materials.

“Log Cabin”

Mondays, February 8, 15, and 22 [time?],

 

A traditional strip pieced quilt taught by Kate Toole. Another great beginner quilt and a handy technique to learn. Fun and quick.

BQ Finishing for your 2009 Block of the Month quilt

Tuesday, February16 [6-9 pm]

 

Kate will teach you how to complete your assemble your blocks in this unique way. Below is a photo of our 2009 Block of the month quilt BQ finished.

2010 Block of the Month:

“Four Seasons in the North Country”

First Tuesday of the month [1-3 pm or 6-8pm] We did the first block January 5, but come and catch up.

 

Kate has outdone herself for this year’s block of the month design.  Each block is 10” x 20” and completed makes up a pieced landscape design with the first block representing the winter sun. There will be four adjacent panels which will represent the changing colors of the seasons. The design also includes birch trees, a cabin, fields, and the river. All kits are precut and have complete instructions. Below is the first block, Winter Sunrise

“Mini Box Tucks Purse” with Kate Toole

January 18 [10 am-3 pm] This is Kate’s new favorite purse. It’s just the right size. Once you make one, you’ll be planning your next!

Becky is a talented fiber artist and in this class she teaches great techniques for fun and creative designs. The results are more pictures than cards. She makes you tap into your creative juices.

“Duty Free Runner” a delightful quilt as you go design. A new technique to learn. You will need to bring batting and backing since you will be completing your runner in the class.

2010 block of the Month

This is the last winter panel and it’s the fields and the river.

“Bali Pops Quilt”

Tuesdays, March 9, 16, and 23 [6-9 pm]

 

Bali Pops consist of forty different batik prints cut in 2 and one half inch stripes. Yummy colors and prints. We also have some of these Hoffman batiks on the bolt for borders.

 

$40.00 plus supplies, Bali roll is $35.00 and the pattern is $3.00
